Penn & Teller- Fool Us is a competition in magic television show in which magicians perform tricks in front of American magic veteran duo Penn & Teller. Its first 2 seasons featured masterful host Jonathan Ross, and the second season onwards Penn And Teller- Fool Us Host Alyson.
Every episode begins with an introduction that explains the main purpose of the show. Penn & Teller come out and sit down at center stage, and hopeful magicians perform their magic before them in front of a an audience of live viewers. Following each show, Penn & Teller privately talk while the host interview the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal if they know the method used to perform the trick, typically using cryptic words or by noting down the procedure and presenting it privately to the magicians to confirm, so that they won’t be publicly exposing the method of the trick.
Season six will begin filming on the 16th of October, 2022.
The Worst Five Penn & Teller— Fool Us Winners
Fool Us was filmed at Fountain Studios in London, England (season one) and the Penn & Teller Theater located in Las Vegas (season two onward). Each time a show is performed, if Penn & Teller cannot figure out how a trick was accomplished, then the magician(s) who performed the trick are awarded a Fool Us trophy and a five-star flight to Las Vegas to perform as the opening act in Penn & Teller’s show which is also held at The Rio Hotel & Casino. The third season began on October 12, 2021.
Teller states that doublespeak can help people learn new techniques without spoiling the trick. In the event that Penn & Teller are wrongor are not able to find out how the trick was done, the magician will be awarded a Fool Us trophy and the chance to perform again at one of Penn & Teller’s Las Vegas shows.
